Engine tuning is the correction of engine running faults by repair, adjustment or cleaning/servicing to get the best possible power, performance and economy for your vehicle.
Can you check why the warning light is illuminated on the dashboard?
Yes, we have modern test equipment for both new and older systems for nearly all makes and models of cars. We can also test for faults electronically on ABS, airbag, air conditioning, instrumentation and immobiliser systems on many makes and models of car and light van.
I seem to be using more fuel than I used to?
Cartune will test for any engine problems causing high fuel consumption, loss of power and performance.
My car has failed the MOT Exhaust Emission Test can you find the problem?
Exhaust emission test readings are the end result of everything that is happening while the engine is running. Faults can be due to electrical, fuelling or mechanical failures. Cartune follows a diagnostic test sequence designed to find the answer to your problem as quickly and efficiently as possible.
My car doesn’t start as well as it used to.

What is ECU Remapping?
Modern car engines are controlled by an Engine Controller Unit (ECU). This unit will contain a map which denotes engine power ratios, torque and fuel usage. These maps are created in compliance with legal requirements and can often be remapped to improve performance and fuel economy.
What are the benefits of ECU Remapping?
There are many benefits of ECU remapping including, improved overall performance, better BHP, more torque and better fuel efficiency.
Is ECU mapping legal?
ECU Remapping is completely legal and completely safe. Cartune has many years experience in ensuring that your car can perform at its very best.
